The European Union has completed the export season for wheat and barley in the red — Печать

As of June 30, the EU countries exported 32.027 million tons of whole grain. This is 4% less than on the same date of the 2017/18 season (4% from the previous week). Imports of whole grain amounted to 30.181 million tons, which is 25% more than at the same date of the 2017/18 season (by 26% the previous week). 

EU countries exported 20.262 million tons of soft wheat. This is 4% less than on the same date of the 2017/18 season (4% from the previous week). The main export destinations for soft wheat are Algeria (25.3%), Saudi Arabia (13%), Egypt (9.7%).

Soft wheat imports amounted to 4.068 million tons, which is 2% more than on the same date of the 2017/18 season (3% from the previous week). Russia became the largest EU supplier with a share of almost 24%, followed by Ukraine (21.4%) and Canada (19.2%).

EU countries exported 4.353 million tons of feed barley to third countries, which is 24% less than on the same date last season (23% the previous week). Following the season, the main recipients of the European barley are: Saudi Arabia (36.4%), China (14.2%), Iran (9.2%).

Barley imports amounted to 125.158 tons, which is 72% less than at the same date of the 2017/18 season (72% from the previous week). The largest suppliers of the 2018/19 season are: Moldova (41.2%), Serbia (20.7%), Ukraine (18.6%).

EU countries exported 2.914 million tons of corn, which is 85% more than on the same date of the 2017/18 season (82% the previous week). The main export destinations are Turkey (33.4%), Lebanon (12.6%), Egypt (9.7%).

Corn imports amounted to 23.6075 million tons, which is 33% more than the same date of the 2017/18 season (34% the previous week). The largest suppliers were: Ukraine (65.3%), Brazil (16.7%), Canada (7.6%).
